Beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouse in the peaceful countryside just outside the lovely town of Palaia. Spacious farmhouse (260 sqm) with six bedrooms, around 5 hectares (about 12 acres) of land, fully fenced with 180 olive trees and a swimming pool of 12m x 6m. There is also a lovey paved outbuilding with roof of 50 sqm (a former barn) now acting as a beautiful pergola. The house was totally renovated in 2007 and is presented in excellent condition throughout.

On the ground floor there is a large entrance hall, large living room with fireplace, kitchen with panoramic veranda, two bedrooms, bathroom plus another veranda with outdoor oven; the upper floor, which can be accessed from both an external and an internal staircase (currently used as an 'agriturismo' area for letting), can be fully independent and it consists of a living room-kitchen, four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The whole lends itself to a wonderful family home with ample space for guests, or for rental, or for it could work as a guesthouse. Outside on the extensive land there is an olive grove with 180 plants, fruit orchard, meadows and woodland. The swimming pool is beautifully landscaped and offers a peaceful place to relax. The views are outstanding from every aspect. Easy access on good roads and plentiful, private parking.

Palaia offers all kind of amenities with a restaurant, bar, ice cream shop, bank and post office, and with lovely little boutiques and other shops selling local handicrafts and also products of the region such as olive oil, truffles and local cheese. Palaia is an historic town in the area of Valdera in central Tuscany, steeped in tradition and where you can still visit the old olive press, the antique wine cellars and the rooms where the olive oil was stored in large terracotta vases. Mainly an agricultural area, Palaia has a colourful history which can be seen at the interactive museum in the town. In the countryside around Palaia is grown some of the best produce of Tuscany, with excellent wines, olive oil and the speciality white truffle. The restaurants offer traditional Tuscan cuisine and the markets offer a true feel of the Tuscan heritage.

The town is located in the Valdera region, between Pisa and Florence. This colourful landscape of rolling hills dotted with medieval villages, castles and lanes flanked with tall dark green cypress trees, epitomises the Tuscan landscape. The area is scattered with historical towns and medieval villages, castles and country churches and a landscape with golden meadows of wheat dancing in the breeze, vineyards, olive groves and fields of sunflowers. Meandering through the countryside of Valdera you feel the vestiges of the mysterious Etruscan civilization. Here Andrea Bocelli, the famous tenor, was born and it is in the heart of Valdera in Lajatico that he created the famous Teatro del Silenzio (the Theatre of Silence), where natural landscape creates a breathtaking setting. In the summer months some of the biggest names in opera and international music gather for a special performance. Casciana Terme has thermal waters and spa facilities and is a pretty town with piazzas and cafès serving the local wine. The città d’arte (cities of art) close by, full or art treasures and breathtaking architecture include Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena and Florence.
